Could one pill replace two? new heart study aims to simplify treatment
NCT ID NCT07587099
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether taking just one blood thinner (instead of two) is safe and effective for people with stable heart disease who have had a balloon procedure to open blocked arteries. About 2,170 adults will be randomly assigned to one or two blood thinners and followed for a year. The goal is to see if one pill can prevent heart attacks, strokes, and serious bleeding just as well as two.
