One-Time radiation blast aims to relieve spinal cord pressure from cancer

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether a single, precise session of radiation (spine stereotactic radiosurgery) can safely treat spinal cord compression caused by cancer that has spread to the spine. The study includes 43 adults with inoperable tumors pressing on the spinal cord. Researchers will monitor how many patients remain able to walk and whether any develop radiation-related spinal cord injury.
