One-Shot radiation zaps spine tumors, aims to ease cancer pain

NCT ID NCT00492817

Summary

This study tested if a single, highly precise session of radiation could safely and effectively treat tumors that had spread to the spine. The goal was to relieve pain and control tumor growth in patients with cancer that had metastasized. Researchers used special imaging to guide the radiation very accurately in one long session, instead of multiple shorter visits.
