One pill before surgery may stop infections, study finds

Summary

This study looks at whether taking one dose of an antibiotic before certain skin surgeries can lower the chance of getting an infection. About 574 adults having surgery on their nose, ear, or lower leg will be randomly given either a placebo or an antibiotic pill. They will be checked for infections up to 30 days after surgery.
