Could a simple gas pill hide a dangerous stomach bug from your doctor?

NCT ID NCT07293234

Summary

This study aims to find out if taking simethicone, a medication for gas and bloating, before a stomach scope makes it harder for doctors to detect H. pylori infection. Researchers will enroll 100 adults in India who are already scheduled for the procedure and have tested positive for the bacteria. They will compare test results from samples taken with and without simethicone to see if the medication interferes with detection.
