Military tests silver gel in battle against hand germs

NCT ID NCT00659204

Summary

This study tested if a new hand gel containing tiny silver particles works better than a common alcohol-based gel at killing bacteria. Researchers applied both gels to the hands of healthy volunteers after putting a safe, traceable bacteria on their skin. They measured how well each gel killed germs immediately and after 10 minutes, and asked volunteers which gel they preferred.
