First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study compares two wound treatments for people with diabetes who have severe foot wounds after leg artery surgery. One group gets standard vacuum therapy, the other gets the same therapy plus a silver nanoparticle spray applied to the wound. The goal is to see which approach leads to faster and more complete healing. About 100 adults are taking part.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

silver nanoparticle spray

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a better way to heal diabetic foot wounds after surgery, reducing healing time and infection risk.

What could go wrong

This is a single-center trial with 88 patients, so results may not apply broadly. Silver allergy or lack of added benefit over standard care are possible.
