Silver gel vs. hand sanitizer: which kills more germs?
NCT ID NCT00659204
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether a gel made with tiny silver particles could kill bacteria on hands better than a common alcohol-based hand gel. Healthy adults had their hands covered with a harmless bacteria, then used one of the gels. The study was stopped early and only 22 people took part, so results are limited.
