Silver-Lined implants tested to fight bone infection after surgery
NCT ID NCT05260463
Summary
This study tested if a special silver-coated metal plate used to fix broken ankle bones is as safe as a regular plate. Researchers wanted to see if the silver coating could help prevent infections around the implant. Over 200 adults with ankle fractures were randomly assigned to get either the silver-coated plate or a regular one and were followed for one year.
