New blood test could spot dangerous silica lung damage early
NCT ID NCT07376291
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific antibody in the blood (anti-CD146) can help doctors detect lung diseases caused by breathing in silica dust at work. It will compare blood test results from 110 people who have been exposed to silica at their jobs with those who have not. The goal is to find a better way to diagnose these serious lung conditions earlier than current methods allow.
