First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the drug sildenafil is safe for premature babies with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), a serious lung condition. Researchers gave the drug or a placebo to 125 infants in neonatal intensive care units. The main goal was to see if sildenafil caused dangerously low blood pressure, and to understand how the drug moves through the body.
