Summary
This study tested a set of tools designed to help pediatric doctors better document and discuss sickle cell trait results from newborn screening with families. It involved 114 pediatric primary care providers and their patients. The goal was to see if these tools improved how often this important genetic information was recorded in medical charts and communicated to parents.
