Summary

This study aims to understand stroke risk in adults with sickle cell disease, as current prevention guidelines are based on children's data. Researchers will follow 102 adults for several years, tracking who experiences strokes and monitoring brain health. The data collected will help design the first clinical trials specifically focused on preventing strokes in adults with this condition.
