Virtual reality vs. stigma: can seeing through a Patient's eyes change pharmacy care?
NCT ID NCT07217548
Summary
This study is testing a new computer-based training simulation designed to help pharmacists and pharmacy students better understand the experiences of people with sickle cell disease who need pain medication. Researchers want to see if experiencing a virtual scenario from the patient's point of view reduces pharmacists' misconceptions about opioid use and leads to more empathetic care. They will enroll 200 healthcare professionals and students, measure their attitudes before and after the training, and check six months later to see if their patients notice improved care.
