Summary

This study aims to see if a proven team-based care program can be successfully used at other hospitals to save the lives of pregnant women with sickle cell disease and their babies in Ghana. It will enroll 500 pregnant women with sickle cell disease at three hospitals to receive coordinated care from a special medical team. The program focuses on preventing and treating serious lung complications and closely monitoring baby growth to reduce deaths.
