Summary

This study aimed to find out how common and serious high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension) is for adults with sickle cell disease. Researchers enrolled 986 adults to check their heart health with an ultrasound and then followed up with phone calls for over three years to track their health. The goal was to understand the risks and outcomes of this serious complication to guide future care.
