Early step toward a One-Time cure for sickle cell disease

NCT ID NCT03664830

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new method to safely collect a patient's own blood stem cells, which is a necessary first step for a future gene therapy. The goal of that future therapy is to provide a one-time cure for sickle cell disease. This small pilot study will check if the collection method is safe and gathers enough cells for the procedure.
