Can a simple joint adjustment ease a painful muscle knot?
NCT ID NCT07264530
Summary
This study aimed to understand if a stiff sacroiliac (SI) joint in the lower back/hip area causes tightness in the nearby piriformis muscle, which can cause buttock and leg pain. Researchers tested 40 adults with this type of pain. They used hands-on manual therapy to loosen the SI joint and measured muscle tension before and after to see if it helped.
