New patch could take the guesswork out of shunt checks
NCT ID NCT07478926
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests a small, wireless patch placed on the skin over a shunt tube to see if it can detect fluid flow without needles or X-rays. About 55 children and adults with hydrocephalus and working shunts will try the device. The goal is to see how well the patch tells the difference between a shunt that is open and one that is closed.
