New drug cocktail before transplant shows promise for tough leukemias

NCT ID NCT07575412

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding two drugs (SHR2554 and azacitidine) to standard chemotherapy before a stem cell transplant can help people with high-risk or relapsed/refractory acute leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). About 180 participants aged 15-60 will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug combo plus standard chemo, or standard chemo alone, followed by a transplant. The main goal is to see if the new approach improves the chance of being event-free (no relapse, severe graft-versus-host disease, or death) one year after treatment.
