Scientists hunt for the genetic roots of common shoulder injuries

NCT ID NCT04831164

Summary

This study aims to understand if certain genes make people more likely to develop painful rotator cuff tears in their shoulder. Researchers will analyze the DNA of thousands of adults who either have a confirmed tear or a healthy shoulder, using MRI scans to verify their status. The goal is to identify genetic patterns that could explain why some people get these injuries and how they might respond to treatment.
