New shot aims to ease agony after shoulder surgery

NCT ID NCT07348016

Summary

This study is testing if adding a long-acting numbing medicine to a standard anti-inflammatory steroid shot during shoulder surgery helps patients recover better. About 70 adults having surgery for a torn rotator cuff and shoulder stiffness will be randomly assigned to get either the combination shot or the steroid shot alone. Researchers will follow patients for a year to see which group has less pain, better shoulder movement, and stronger healing.
