New nerve block may cut opioid use after shoulder surgery

Summary

This study tests if a specific nerve block (SPSIP block) can reduce pain after arthroscopic shoulder surgery. About 80 adults having elective shoulder surgery will receive this block or standard care. The main goal is to see if it lowers the amount of opioid pain medicine needed in the first 48 hours after surgery.
