New nerve block technique may reduce breathing risks after shoulder surgery
NCT ID NCT07256938
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests if a new combination of nerve blocks (suprascapular plus costoclavicular) with added clonidine can provide pain relief equal to the standard interscalene block after shoulder surgery, but with fewer breathing side effects. About 60 adults having elective shoulder arthroscopy will participate. The goal is to find a safer option for patients with lung conditions like COPD.
