First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested two different nerve block techniques to see which provides better pain relief after shoulder arthroscopy. Fifty adults having shoulder surgery received either a serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block or a combination of suprascapular and axillary nerve blocks. Researchers measured how long it took for patients to request additional pain medication and their pain levels over 24 hours.
