First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested two different ways to numb the arm and shoulder during shoulder surgery to see which provides better pain relief and less risk of temporary diaphragm paralysis (which can affect breathing). Thirty adults having shoulder arthroscopy received either a combination of two nerve blocks or a single block. Researchers measured pain scores and diaphragm movement before and after surgery.
