New nerve block could reduce breathing risks after shoulder surgery

Summary
This study compares two methods of numbing nerves to control pain after shoulder surgery. Researchers want to see which method provides better pain relief with fewer side effects, particularly breathing problems. Sixty patients having shoulder surgery will receive one of the two nerve block techniques, and their pain and medication use will be tracked for 24 hours.
