New nerve block tested to ease shoulder surgery pain with fewer breathing side effects

NCT ID NCT07259785

Summary

This study compares two different nerve-blocking techniques used to manage pain after arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Researchers are testing whether a newer method (SPSIPB) provides similar pain relief as a common method (CCBPB) but with less impact on breathing muscle function. The trial involves 30 adult patients and measures their pain levels and diaphragm movement for 24 hours after surgery.
