New shield tested to block germs during shoulder surgery
NCT ID NCT06513182
Summary
This study is testing whether a special plastic sleeve placed around the surgical wound during shoulder replacement can reduce bacterial contamination and prevent serious joint infections. Researchers are comparing patients who receive the wound protector with those who don't during their surgery. The goal is to find a simple, effective way to keep bacteria from the skin out of the deep surgical area.
