New injection method offers simpler relief for chronic shoulder pain

NCT ID NCT07347054

Summary

This study is testing whether a simpler injection into a painful muscle knot (trigger point) works as well as a more complex injection directly into the shoulder joint for relieving long-term shoulder arthritis pain. Over 1,000 adults with shoulder osteoarthritis will receive one of the two injections and be followed for two years to compare pain relief, function, and side effects. The goal is to find a safe, easy-to-perform treatment option for people who haven't gotten enough relief from standard medications.
