Short-Stem shoulder implants: Bone-Saving design put to the test

NCT ID NCT07651215

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at people who had reverse total shoulder replacement with a short-stem implant at least two years ago. Researchers want to see how the bone around the implant changes over time and how well the shoulder works. Participants will have X-rays and fill out questionnaires about pain, movement, and satisfaction.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

short-stem humeral implant

What this could lead to

If the short-stem implant shows good bone preservation and function, it could support its use for easier future revisions.

What could go wrong

This is a small, single-center observational study with no comparison group, so results may not apply to all patients or implants.
