Surgery vs sling: which stops shoulders from popping out again?
NCT ID NCT03315819
Summary
This study tested whether immediate surgery or simple sling immobilization works better to prevent repeat shoulder dislocations in young adults after their first dislocation. Researchers randomly assigned 40 patients aged 18-25 to either surgery to repair torn tissues or wearing a sling for several weeks. They followed participants for two years to see which group had fewer repeat dislocations and better shoulder function.
