Surgery may prevent repeat shoulder dislocations in young patients
NCT ID NCT03315819
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at 40 people aged 18-25 who had a first-time shoulder dislocation. It compared surgery to repair the torn tissue versus the standard approach of wearing a sling. The goal was to see if surgery lowers the chance of the shoulder popping out again within 2 years. Results could help guide treatment for young, active patients.
