Frozen shoulder breakthrough: MRI may predict who heals fastest

NCT ID NCT04653636

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at 55 adults with severe frozen shoulder (pain and stiffness for at least 3 months) to find out which factors predict a good response to a treatment called arthrographic distension (a fluid injection into the shoulder joint) followed by intensive physical therapy. The main goal was to see if MRI scans and clinical signs could identify who would have less pain and better shoulder function one month later. The results help doctors personalize treatment for severe capsulitis.
