Gentle buzz or plastic shield? study finds best way to ease Baby's shot pain

NCT ID NCT07379034

Summary

This study tested two simple devices—a ShotBlocker (a plastic shield with pressure points) and a vibration pen—to see if they could reduce pain in babies during routine vaccinations. Researchers compared these methods against no special intervention in 96 healthy infants aged 2 to 6 months. They measured the babies' pain using a standard scoring system that looks at facial expression, crying, and body movements.
