9-Month pill regimen could transform treatment for tough tuberculosis

NCT ID NCT07268664

Summary

This study is testing whether a 9-month, all-pill treatment regimen can effectively treat a difficult form of tuberculosis that is resistant to a key antibiotic. It will involve about 120 Chinese participants aged 12 and older with rifampicin-resistant TB. Researchers will monitor patients for 24 months to see if the shorter treatment works well and is safe compared to much longer historical treatments.
