Scientists race to slash TB prevention treatment from months to weeks

NCT ID NCT06498414

Summary

This study aims to find shorter, safer drug regimens to prevent latent tuberculosis (TB) infection from turning into active disease. Researchers are testing 1-2 month daily pill courses against the current standard 4-month treatment in 1,800 adults and children. The goal is to identify a regimen that is just as safe and effective but easier for people to complete.
