Could a few weeks of radiation be enough for recurrent prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT03388619

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested a shorter course of radiation (2 to 4 weeks instead of 6 to 7) for men whose prostate cancer came back after surgery. The goal was to find the shortest schedule that is safe and does not cause severe side effects. Thirty men participated, and the researchers focused radiation on the tumor seen on scans while giving a lower dose to the surrounding area.
