Shorter radiation course tested to improve sarcoma surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT04562480

Summary

This study is testing whether a shorter, 3-week radiation schedule before surgery can reduce wound complications for people with soft tissue sarcoma in their arms, legs, or trunk. The trial involves 120 participants who will receive this condensed radiation treatment followed by surgery to remove the tumor. Researchers will track wound healing problems, cancer recurrence rates, and overall survival over 5 years to see if this approach is effective.
