Could 3 days of radiation be as good as 5 for breast cancer?
NCT ID NCT02276885
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests if a shorter course of radiation (3 treatments over 5 days) is as safe and effective as the standard 5-day course for women with early-stage breast cancer. About 284 post-menopausal women with small, low-risk tumors took part. The goal is to see if the shorter schedule causes less scarring and works just as well at preventing cancer from coming back.
