Heart study aims to cut bleeding risk for seniors by shortening blood thinner regimen

NCT ID NCT07164859

Summary

This study is testing if a much shorter course of dual blood-thinning therapy is as safe and effective as the standard longer course for seniors who get a heart stent. It will enroll 1,700 patients aged 65 and older. One group will take two blood thinners for just 7 days, then one blood thinner alone, while the other follows the standard 3-12 month dual therapy, to see if the shorter course reduces bleeding without increasing heart risks.
