Race against time: can two days of drugs beat a week for deadly flesh infections?

NCT ID NCT06002607

Summary

This study is testing if a shorter course of antibiotics is just as safe and effective as a longer one for treating severe, life-threatening flesh infections. It will compare giving antibiotics for 48 hours versus 7 days after surgery in 50 adult patients. The goal is to find the shortest effective treatment to reduce side effects, lower the risk of antibiotic resistance, and help patients leave the hospital sooner.
