NCT ID NCT05544565
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study compares a 3-day intravenous (IV) antibiotic treatment against a standard 10-day course (3 days IV plus 7 days oral) for acute kidney infection in children aged 1 month to 3 years. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment works just as well, reduces antibiotic resistance, and protects gut health. About 480 children with their first kidney infection will take part.
