Could a shorter, gentler treatment beat a deadly blood cancer?

NCT ID NCT07407660

Summary

This study is testing if a shorter course of a common leukemia drug combination is as effective as the standard longer course for older or frail patients. Researchers want to see if stopping the drug early for patients who respond quickly can reduce severe side effects like infections and low blood counts, without hurting treatment success. The trial will enroll 250 newly diagnosed patients who cannot tolerate intense chemotherapy.
