First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study compares a shorter course of steroids (8 days for moderate cases, 14 days for severe) against the standard 21-day treatment for Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) in people with HIV/AIDS. The goal is to see if the shorter regimen works just as well at preventing death and may reduce side effects. About 196 adults with moderate or severe PCP will take part.
