Shorter antibiotic course for kids with pneumonia could reduce side effects

Summary

This study compares a 5-day antibiotic course to the usual 7-14 day course for hospitalized children aged 3 months to 18 years with uncomplicated pneumonia. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment is just as effective and causes fewer side effects. Participants are randomly assigned to either the short or standard treatment and followed for 14 days.
