Sound waves target knee pain in athletes

NCT ID NCT06686680

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive treatment called extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) can help reduce pain and improve movement in athletes who have developed knee arthritis after ACL surgery. Researchers will compare the effects of real shockwave therapy to a fake (sham) treatment in 70 participants. The main goal is to see if this therapy can ease symptoms and improve quality of life for people with this type of post-injury arthritis.
