Gentle shockwaves to kidneys may fight high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT06194591

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive shockwave treatment applied to the kidneys can help lower high blood pressure and improve kidney health in people with chronic kidney disease. Thirty patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the real treatment or a sham (fake) treatment over three weeks, and their blood pressure and kidney function will be monitored for nearly a year. The goal is to see if this device-based therapy can reduce the need for medication and slow the progression of kidney disease.
