Shockwave vs. physical therapy: new hope for achilles pain?
NCT ID NCT04725513
Summary
This study compared three treatment approaches for chronic mid-portion Achilles tendon pain in runners. 46 participants were randomly assigned to receive either physical therapy alone, physical therapy plus shockwave therapy, or physical therapy plus shockwave and light therapy. After three months, participants could choose to switch to a different treatment to see what worked best for their pain and function.
