Shock waves vs. back pain: can a new therapy offer relief?

NCT ID NCT07245498

Summary

This study tested whether a treatment called extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) could help people with long-term low back pain. Researchers compared two groups of 69 adults: one received real shock wave therapy plus standard physical therapy, while the other received fake (sham) shock wave therapy plus physical therapy. The goal was to see if adding shock waves reduced pain and disability more than physical therapy alone.
